At the end of the 18 th century the first cellars liqueurs allowed to do to pass the time pleasantly during the long travel carriage . In 1840 the bourgeoisie emerging , consuming to excess , discovering the joys of luxury and the decoration , thanks to an environment and social very favorable , could not fail to encourage the emergence of refined objects such as cellars liqueurs , tea box , humidors . Crystal le Creusot , Saint-Louis , Clichy , de Sèvres , de Pantin or Baccarat molded , engraved , worked on the acid , sandblasted , carved in diamond point , twisted , gold-plated finish...inventiveness was without limit !In the years 1835 /1840 fashion crystal color , imported from Bohemia , came to enrich the existing offer . The July monarchy and the advent of the great liberal bourgeoisie made it a subject of inescapable , to the point of coming to the wedding gift type of the French family . Quickly the aristocratic elite and financial , to the origin of the multiplication of objects of decoration , blew up the request of the cellars liqueurs . This rapid success led to a proliferation of models .The largest manufacturer in the 19th century was called Tahan ; from 1844 to 1879 its factories supplied the Court , from 1845 to the Royal Court , and Imperial from 1855 .
