CALDERON Charles-Clément (1870 / 1906)
Born in Paris in 1870 / died in 1906
A student of Cabanel, Calderon was above all a landscape painter.
Like many landscape painters of his time, he was particularly inspired by the city of Venice, which he painted in an expressionist style.
Most of his works represent views of the city and canals to which are added a few maritime paintings.
He also traveled to Türkiye where he brought back landscapes of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
He participated in the Colonial Exhibition of 1906, the year of his death at age 36.
