NOEL Jules (1815 / 1881)
Born in 1815 in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) – Died in 1881 in Algiers.
Painter of genre scenes, animated landscapes and seascapes, landscapes, seascapes, church interiors - gouache painter - pastell watercolorist - lithographer - designer.
A student of Cherioux in Brest, Jules NOEL came to Paris in 1840, where he exhibited at the Salon until 1879.
Brittany and Normandy are, apart from the Middle East, its open-air workshops.From peaceful fishing ports to pathetic shipwreck scenes, Jules NOEL puts as much verve and brilliance into portraying his subject.
His watercolors and paintings are spiritually executed.
Jules NOEL was particularly successful in the representation of the Normandy coasts, his familiar scenes of life in the city, in the countryside, at the sea, constitute a picturesque testimony full of life.
Very popular, Jules NOEL's workshop is the meeting place for several generations of artists from romanticism to realism.Museums:
