BARNOIN Henri Alphonse (1882 / 1940)
Born in 1882 in Paris, died in 1935.
Painter of compositions with characters, landscapes, urban landscapes, seascapes, pastellist, post-impressionist.
He was a student of A de Richemont, Luc-Olivier Merson, but it is from his second master Emile Dameron that he gets his taste for anecdotal landscapes, which he animates with peasant crowds, fishermen and boats, rocky coasts and processions, landscapes, seascapes and scenes of Breton life, it is the entire repertoire of folkloric Brittany which nourishes his work endowed with a well-assured technique which is the faithful mirror of the fervor of the painter for Breton daily life.
Exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1909, he received an honorable mention in 1909, a silver mention in 1921, became a member, received a gold medal in 1935 and was classified out of competition in 1939.
Landscape painter, he won the Prize of the Friendly Association of French Landscapers.
